New Course: Embodiment is Found in the Stillness!

Exciting news! I have created a 6 session course entitled “Embodiment is Found in the Stillness.” Five of the sessions are audio recordings and one session is a video of the three Religion for Her co-founders discussing embodiment. There is a detailed workbook with reflective questions included with the course.

Premise of the Course

Have you ever wondered how to listen more closely to your intuition? There is a sacred space between the restless mind and the demands of daily life. This is a place of wisdom and clarity. Embodied living is a journey inward. What are your core values? Do your daily habits reflect these values? Are you listening to your body's cues throughout the day? What is an ideal week for you?

In the Old Testament, there are numerous times when we are encouraged to “Be still.” There are actually at least 3 different verbs in Hebrew that can be translated as “to be still, to be quiet, to sink, leave alone.” In Psalm 46:10, the English says “Be Still and Know that I am God.” The Hebrew verb used there for “Be still”  means to become slack, to relax, to let drop, to let go.” Embodiment requires us to step back from the background noise and connect with ourselves both in body and spirit.

In this course we discuss the process of connecting with ourselves, and not necessarily the product (aka a long list of all the things you need to do to be embodied). I ask a lot of questions. Only you can answer these questions for yourself. The goal is to stay in process mode. But, by the end of the course, you will have a toolbox of ideas, strategies, and journal prompts that you will be able to incorporate into your daily routine.

Course Goals & Objectives:

1) Session 1: Define embodiment and discuss steps to create space for a deeper connection with both our mind and body.

2) Session 2: Historical background of the Body/Spirit Dysfunction in our culture

3) Session 3: Core Values & Habits. What gives your life meaning? Evaluate daily/weekly schedule. Does what you do on a daily basis reflect your core values?

4) Session 4: Embodied & Female.Topics include rest, the menstrual cycle, movement, and treating the body with loving-kindness.

5) Session 5: Utilize the skills learned so far to interact with Sacred Literature from a more embodied framework.

6) Session 6: The Magic Happens in the Revision. How Reflection is a key component of embodied living.
